The problem of unifying Galois theory and Tannaka theory in a single theory is still open, despite several attempts to do so by different authors. It would be important to establish, above a basic monoidal category, results of Tannaka type which would specialise, in the case of the monoidal category of vector spaces over a body, to the classical results of Rivano and Deligne, and in the case of the category of sets, to those of Galois theory.
